Welcome to my Home Page

I'm happy that you decided to visit my hompage. It is designed to help answer some questions about hematology and oncology. Just click to the left for various topics.

I was born in Louisiana. I graduated from Louisiana State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology. I recieved my medical degree in 1996 from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. I completed internship in 1997 and medical residency in 1999 at Lousiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During the year 2000, I was chosen as Chief Medical Resident for the Department of Medicine at Lousiana State Universisty. I went on to complete a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology in 2003 at the LSU Health Sciences Center thru the Stanley Scott Cancer Center. I am board certified in Internal Medicine.

I joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group August 1st 2003. My special interest is breast cancer and I have recently been appointed to the Kaiser Regional Breast Cancer Task Force.

I like practicing at Kaiser because they encourage patients and the health care team to become familiar with each other so the patient is not just a number and the Health Care team is not a revolving door. "Familiarity begets curing."

My Practice Philosophy is to: “Cure those you can and comfort those you can’t”.

I am married and my husband and I live in the Bay area. My personal interests include singing and travel.

I am an Associate Member of the Americal Society of Oncology, American Society of Hematology an the American College of Physicians.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
