My Biography

Hello, and thank you for visiting my web page! A little something about me: I am a native Californian, born and raised in Los Angeles. I graduated from University of California at Riverside in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. I received my Master's Degree in Psychology at Northwestern University in 1995, and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 1999.

I completed my Residency at the Chicago-Read Psychiatric Hospital in 1999, and my Fellowship in Adult Psychiatry at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Rosa in 2000. I am board certified by the California Board of Psychology (PSY17211). I am a member of the American Psychological Society, the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association, and the Psi-Chi National Honors Society. I have also instructed at several local colleges and universities, and love the teaching process.

I have been with Kaiser since 1999, and have held the position of Chief of Adult Psychiatric Services since 2002. One of the many things I find most beneficial about working at Kaiser is the number of resources available to those clients in need of treatment. We have a large number of group treatment programs which have been developed in accordance with national and regional research guidelines; programs which have been proven to be the most effective type of treatment for many psychiatric issues. I am also proud to be a part of a department staffed with top notch quality therapists (Psychologists, LCSW's, and MFT's) and who are dedicated to providing high quality care that is also the most effective, efficient, and affordable.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
