Mountain View Psychiatry Department's Philosophy:
As your clinicians, we want to provide the best care possible for you. We believe in treating the whole person with the focus on mind-body wellness. At this clinic, we can offer you group therapy, individual therapy, and medication evaluation depending on our comprehensive assessment of what would be the best care for your particular problem. We, as therapists, believe that group therapy is very helpful and is an important benefit we can offer our members. We are particularly skilled in bring this form of treatment to our members. At our clinic, we offer a comfortable and welcoming environment for members to come and receive treatment. We look forward to working with you.
About Me:
I was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. I received my BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and received my MSW from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I became an LCSW(Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in 1990.
Prior to Kaiser, Santa Clara, I worked in the Employee Assistance Program and chemical dependency field. I joined South Sacramento Kaiser in 1993 and worked in their ADAP (Alcohol and Drug Program). In 1995, I joined the Adult Psychiatry Clinic, Santa Clara Kaiser, as a psychiatric social worker. I have been at the Mountain View Psychiatry Department since 2003.
My Interest:
I have expertise in treating a variety of mental health issues, mood disorders (bipolar and depression), and women's issues. I have a special interest in treating pregnancy, fertility and postpartum depression/adjustment. I run a Pregnancy/Postpartum Stress Series class thru the Mind Body Wellness Center, I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desentization and Reprocessing) for dealing with Post traumatic Stress Disorder. I have extensive experience using a Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach (MCBT). I enjoy leading groups/classes. I coauthored the Rapid Symptom Reduction (RSR) manual used in a number of the Kaiser psychiatry clinics.
Personal Interests:
On the personal side, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, playing with the family dog, and enjoying the Bay Area.
