About Me

I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area of Southern California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry as well as being elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

I received my Medical Degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1994 and remained at UCSD to complete my Internal Medicine internship. I moved to Northern California for my Neurology residency at Stanford University where I was Chief Resident during my last year. I then moved back down to San Diego again to complete a fellowship in Electromyography/Clinical Neurophysiology at UCSD. In the end, however, the charms of Northern California prevailed and I moved back here to join the Permanente Medical Group in 2000.

I am a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. I am board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

My Interests

My practice is comprised of General Neurology cases although I have an interest in Neuromuscular Disorders and an expertise in the performance of the Nerve Conduction Studies/Electromyography.

I am married and have two children. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and socializing with friends and family.

My Credentials

Medical school UC San Diego School of Medicine, La Jolla, CA
Internship UC San Diego Medical Center, San Diego, CA
Residency Stanford University, Stanford, CA
Fellowship UC San Diego Medical Center, San Diego, CA
Board certification Neurology, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
