Please explore the many items on my web page. Please note that Pediatric Health Information includes information on common pediatric problems, newborns & breast feeding, weight management issues, travel shots, well care, and immunizations. The Multimedia Page (Educational Videos and Radio Broadcasts) is another great resource available to you. It's a great resource for parents! This is a resource for you to get questions and information about common pediatric problems via the internet 24 hours a day.
My practice philosophy
I believe that the only way to get to the heart of a child or teen’s medical concern is to be a good listener! Often the answer is close at hand, if not “right there,” if only we take the time to give the parent, child or adolescent an opportunity to tell their story. Then we work together to solve the problem. I believe in the traditional practice of medicine, relying on decades of solid medical research and advice from leading experts in the various subspecialty fields of Pediatrics. Finally, I look forward to following with you the growth and development of your child, as they become the beautiful, unique individuals they are meant to be. After 20 years with Kaiser-TPMG, I am now a “grand-doctor” for some of my families, and I love it!
About Me
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, attending Pomona College in nearby Claremont, and completing my undergraduate degree in Biology in 1982. I received my medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1986, and achieved honors in clinical performance my entire senior year. I stayed on at the Children’s Hospital to complete my residency. I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1989. I am board certified in General Pediatrics. I also can speak conversational Spanish, although I often need the correcting my patients so gently and willingly provide! I have been either a mentor or preceptor for undergraduate students interested in medicine, medical students at Stanford University and Pediatric residents at Stanford.
My personal interests
I enjoy everything about pediatrics and currently am very interested in getting children and teens to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle!
I am married and have two sons, one who will be off to college soon! I love to garden, sew, read, paint in watercolor and attend theatre productions of all kinds. Music is big in my house. Someone, including me, is almost always at the piano. I am also active in my local parish community and my children’s school communities. We also have an adorable one year old Golden Retriever, “Annie.”
I am not in the clinic Mon and Thurs. Our office is one of warm collegiality, happily seeing each other’s patients on our off days.
