Joyce Wong, MS, RD
Regional Metabolic Clinic Nutrition Coordinator

Welcome to the Genetics Multi-Specialty Clinics at Oakland Kaiser!

About Me

I received my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from UC Davis, and my Master's degree in Nutrition from Texas A&M University. I have previously worked in a variety of positions before this position including inpatient clinical nutrition, food service and outpatient nutrition counselor. I love my current job because it allows me to follow patients for a long period of time and I really enjoy getting to know them and their families. I am happy that I am able to help families come up with solutions to the problems they face. Because I like to learn about the foods of different cultures, I believe I am able to expose people to new nutrition solutions that they may not have previously considered. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, knitting, scrapbooking and traveling.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
