How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

The opportunity I had to work for a true HMO, with primary emphasis on patient care, attracted me to Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. I get to concentrate on delivering expert health care services without concerning myself with running a business. The Kaiser Permanente comprehensive care model means that I have instant access to any specialty. This is beneficial because I can refer patients in a seamless fashion.

I enjoy working with the other ODs in the department, as well as co-managing cases with MDs. The scope of my knowledge and my practice have grown since I arrived here. I maintain specific interests in pediatric optometry.

I like to THRIVE by following healthy eating habits and a good exercise regimen. I also believe in investing energy to nurture personal, meaningful relationships. I love spending time with my wife, Eileen and my toddler, Ethan. I enjoy traveling, running, snowboarding, mountain biking, reading, and listening to music.

Many people have Laser Vision Correction done so that they are no longer dependent on glasses or contact lenses for distance vision. Individuals over 40 will still need glasses for reading after Laser Vision Correction to correct both eyes for distance.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
