Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to my home page! My name is Jennifer Hayes-Bist and I am an Audiologist working in the Hearing Center of Kaiser Permanente Stockton. The Hearing Center is part of the Head and Neck Surgery Department.

About Me

I graduated from California State University, Sacramento where I obtained my Master of Science degree in Audiology in 2000. While in graduate school, I had multiple internships including a wonderful experience at Travis Air Force Base. I completed my clinical fellowship working with a medical group in Sacramento. In 2002, I joined the team here at the Kaiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices. I hold California State licenses for both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. I recently completed my Doctor of Audiology degree so I can better serve my patients.

My Philosophy of Care

I feel that Kaiser Permanente members deserve only the highest quality of care. I feel that it is important to treat the patient, or a family member, like you would like to be treated, with respect and compassion. I feel that it is also important to always consider the other person’s point of view and try to understand where they are coming from. My goal is to help my patients communicate more efficiently, because communication is a basic tool of human interaction.

I have always been interested in the “helping professions”. What better way to make a difference in a person’s life than to assist them in making connections with others? Hearing loss can be frustrating for the patient and the people they interact with. Hearing loss can isolate patients, leading to depression. My greatest joy is when my patients say to me, “I used to have a difficult time hearing my spouse/child/grandchild, now I find that I am hearing him/her much better!”

More About Me

Although born in the mid-west, I was raised mostly in the Sacramento area. In 2006, I moved into the foothills with my husband and added a daughter to our family in 2007. I feel such peace when enjoying my natural surroundings. When not practicing Audiology, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, snow skiing, wakeboarding and going on walks.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
