How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

My wife is a native San Franciscan, and that is how I found my way to the city. I moved here from Los Angeles and accepted a position at Kaiser Permanente. Kaiser attracted me because of its diverse patient population, along with the opportunity to work within the midst of other expert providers. The fully-integrated system allows us to work with one another in a collaborative manner, enabling us to provide informed expertise for our patients. Although my practice spans the full range of optometric care, I am especially interested in pre- and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery patients.

During my leisure time, I enjoy kayaking, scuba diving, and early morning runs. My wife Alice is also an optometrist, and we have a daughter who is a competitive swimmer!

Many people have Laser Vision Correction done so that they are no longer dependent on glasses or contact lenses for distance vision. Individuals over 40 will still need glasses for reading after Laser Vision Correction to correct both eyes for distance.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
