My Biography

I was born in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States when I was eight years old. I speak Tagalog and understand Ilocano. I grew up in Alameda and went to San Francisco State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I then continued my education and earned my Master of Science degree in Nursing with a specialty as a family nurse practitioner.

I have worked at Kaiser Foundation Hospital since 1989. I have been with The Permanente Medical Group since 1996. Prior experiences before my position as a nurse practitioner include nursing in oncology, respiratory intensive care, and on occasion emergency. I was also involved as a clinical researcher for the Division of Research on Diabetes and Mental Health. I am married and have one son.

During my spare time, I like to cook, garden, read, run, and ski. I also volunteer as a religion instructor at our local church. Most importantly, I like to spend time with my family.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
