My Biography

My Practice Philosophy

I believe my role as your primary care physician is to be the “hub of the wheel” for your health issues.

About Me

I have been a Kaiser Permanente physician since 1989. I was born and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Ithaca College. I graduated from Upstate Medical School in Syracuse, NY (1975) and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. While at Henry Ford Hospital, I worked for 10 years as a senior staff physician and primary care residency director.

My Interests

My medical interests include preventative health care, diabetes, and geriatrics. I hold a membership in the American College of Physicians. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, who works in high-tech and microfinance. My son graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles and is currently in a combined MD-JD (medical school and law school) program in Illinois. I also enjoy skiing, biking, hiking, and photography. I am a board member for a rotating shelter, which assists homeless men. I volunteer in local elementary schools yearly. Since September 2002, I have donated hundreds of hours as an athletic photographer for a high school.

In 2001, I was honored to be named Physician of the Year for Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital.

For all my patients, I recommend:

  • Carry a current list of your medications and medication allergies/sensitivities.
  • Complete a durable power of attorney for health care. Take it to our Medical Secretary office to have it scanned into your medical record.
  • Consider placing an organ donor sticker on your driver's license. While I hope it will never be needed, it would be an enormous gift to others in the event of a catastrophic injury.

My Credentials

Medical school State University of New York Health Science Center, Syracuse, NY
Internship Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI
Residency Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
