Welcome to my Home Page

Hello there and welcome! I am so happy that you decided to visit. I am dedicated to giving you the best possible care and hope that you find my home page valuable and interesting. On the left, you will find a number of links to various websites that cover a wide range of health problems as well as information on general health and well-being. Many of these links also have information in Spanish.

You will also find links to the laboratory, pharmacy and radiology departments. Feel free to browse, request a refill or even book a routine appointment.

You will find that I am very aggressive about preventing health problems and push my patients to do the same. I believe in exercise, good eating habits and vanquishing smoking.

I regard you as a key member of our health care team and hope that you will work with me to make a difference in your health. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to my practice.

Regarding my background, I was born and raised in Belize, Central America, the middle child in a large Catholic family. I worked as a teacher and a microbiologist before attending medical school. I also hold a Master's in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.

I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2002 and have been an active member of the Department of Internal Medicine. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and am a member of the American College of Physicians.

In my spare time I travel, watch movies and read voraciously. I enjoy singing and have been a member of my church choir for the past 10 years.

My Credentials

Medical school UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Residency UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
