Welcome to my website. I am a neurologist at Kaiser Santa Clara and therefore only see patients upon referral from their Kaiser primary care provider. I thought you might be interested in my background.
About Me
I grew up on the East Coast, in Stamford, Connecticut. I first came to the Bay Area for college and graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Medical Microbiology with honors and a B.A. in Philosophy. I received my MD from the University of Chicago in 1993, where I was awarded the Steven Lukes Prize for excellence in internal medicine and neurology. I then moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where I completed my neurology residency at McGill University and the Montreal Neurological Institute.
After my residency, I went on to do a fellowship in epilepsy and electrophysiology at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. I have published my research on the care of and MRI findings in patients with seizure disorders. I am currently part of the clinical faculty at the Stanford University School of Medicine; I also participate in the activities of the Stanford Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. I am also the director of our Multiple Sclerosis Clinic and participate in the activities of the Santa Clara chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
I am an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, and the Santa Clara Medical Association. I am also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1998. I am board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
My Interests
My medical interests include general neurology, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. I am married and have two sons and one daughter. I enjoy playing piano and guitar and horseback riding.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
