I received my undergraduate degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu with an emphasis in Psychology and Criminology in 1994. I completed my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at Alliant University, California School of Professional Psychology in 1997 and 2000 respectively. As part of my doctoral training, I completed a full-time internship in Clinical Psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association at Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center in Los Angeles county.

I completed my postdoctoral training with the California Department of Corrections and was subsequently employed with the department for one-year before joining Kaiser Permanente in Milpitas. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California and have been employed with Kaiser Permanente since July 2002.

At Kaiser, I work in the division of adult psychiatry where I conduct individual, group psychotherapy and psychological assessments. I perform crisis intervention and triage new members for appropriate services. Other responsibilities include maintaining department statistics, conducting psychological testing and evaluating candidates for gastric bypass surgery.

My clinical experience is with a demographically and diagnostically diverse population whose presentation ranges from depression and anxiety to substance abuse/dependence.

I also have a strong interest in the interface between psychology and the law and in addition to working at Kaiser, my practice includes work with the criminal justice/correctional system.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
