About me

Welcome to my web page. As you begin to explore cochlear implants, please use the links on the left to help you decide if a cochlear implant is right for you.

Cochlear implants have the potential to make a significant impact in your life. That is why I am honored to be working with patients considering a cochlear implant.

I knew I wanted to work with the hearing impaired since the time I was in the first grade. I failed a school hearing screening and went to see an audiologist for a complete audiological evaluation. Although I have normal hearing, this experience had a significant impact on my life.

I was born in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in Alamogordo, New Mexico. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 1990 from Texas Christian University and a Masters of Science in Audiology from the University of Washington in 1992. I received my Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida in 2002.

I moved to Sacramento in 2004 from Atlanta, Georgia to be close to family. I am very happy to be in California and working with Kaiser Permanente.

My professional focus has always been on helping people hear better, whether it be with hearing aids or with cochlear implants. I look forward to working with you and being a part of your journey to better hearing.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my children and family. We like traveling and exploring new places.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
