THRIVE: A Healthy You ...Click here to get connected and learn how to live healthier every day.

About me:

Although I grew up in southern California, I have spent much of my adult life in northern California, and feel a distinct affinity for the physical place of the East Bay and for the people who live here. One of the things I appreciate most about this area is the unsurpassed diversity of folks who live here. We are so lucky to live in a place where we interact with so many different kinds of people from such diverse and varied backgrounds.

In my free time, I like to garden (although, I like planting new flowers and herbs much more than I like weeding!) and read. I also enjoy going on walks around the East Bay, and spending time with my family and friends.

My practice philosophy:
I decided to pursue a career in medicine because I wanted to help people live healthy lives. I believe in pro-active and preventative medicine, and in building relationships with patients in order to help facilitate healthier lifestyles and behaviors. Patients as well as doctors are responsible for achieving these goals. We must work together and support each other in order to ensure healthier living for ourselves and the community around us.

I am an active member of the Young Adult Clinic, and enjoy working with young people to help them in whatever way I can.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
