Caring, compassion and a lot of humor

I think my specialty chose me. At age ten, I declared I’d be an OB/GYN doctor. I was a Kaiser Permanente patient as a kid, and I’ve always known that this was where I wanted to be. I started work here in 2001 and I love my job.

Currently, I am the Assistant Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Fremont. My special interests are high risk obstetrics and laparoscopic and vaginal surgery. I like to form a warm, personal connection with my patients based on caring and compassion — and a lot of humor. I want patients to take an active role in decisions about their healthcare, so I keep the dialog between us open and honest.

I am a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology and the American Medical Association. I was born and raised in Concord, California. Before medical school, I worked at a women’s clinic and traveled throughout Central America, Mexico and Europe. I’m married and thoroughly enjoy the time I spend with my husband. We like traveling, camping, hiking and photography.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
