How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco primarily for the diversity that exists across the board. You see ethnic diversity in the patient population that we serve, among the clinicians providing care to our members, and among our employees who may not see patients directly, but still play an integral role in making sure that day-to-day operations run smoothly.

I split my time between the outpatient clinic and the inpatient hospital. I truly enjoy this because it allows me to work with a variety of patients, and I have the opportunity to see patients at various stages of their recovery. I have a special interest in cardiology, neurology, and orthopedic physical therapy. In addition, I have great colleagues who are not only excellent therapists, but are fun to work with.

The Kaiser health care model is beneficial for our patients because the system provides a comprehensive, holistic approach that covers all aspects of patient care. We do a fine job of not only treating diseases, but providing our members with the tools they need to prevent them from getting sick or injured.

My wife and I are proud alumni of UC Berkeley. We have been attending Cal football games since 1997 and are season ticket holders (Go Bears!). I enjoy watching a plethora of sports including football, basketball, and baseball. My favorite teams are the Cal Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and the San Francisco Giants. In our spare time we love dining out, partaking of city nightlife, going to music concerts, and traveling whenever we get the chance.

I THRIVE by participating in various outdoor activities. In the winter and spring, I love going to Tahoe to snowboard (wearing a helmet and adequate sun block of course). In the summer, you can catch me mountain biking around the Bay Area (again, with helmet and sun block in tow). I’m also an avid runner and make that my primary form of exercise. I just recently completed my first half-marathon in February 2007!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
