Thank you for visiting my home page! I hope that you will be able to learn more about my background and practice philosophy.

My Biography I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. As an undergraduate, I attended Duke University in North Carolina, where I majored in both biology and Spanish. After college, I completed my medical school and dermatology residency training at Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2006, I moved out to the Bay Area to join Kaiser Permanente at Redwood City.

Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful place to practice medicine in part because of their team approach to taking care of patients and emphasis on preventive health care. My practice philosophy is to listen carefully to my patients’ concerns, answer questions thoroughly, and treat each person as an individual. My special interests within dermatology include cosmetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and treatment of psoriasis and autoimmune diseases of the skin.

I speak conversational and basic medical Spanish, and I enjoy seeing Spanish-speaking patients in clinic.

I am board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. My professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Psoriasis Foundation, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

When I’m not practicing dermatology, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children, cooking “gourmet” meals, and exploring ethnic cuisines. I am an avid sports fan, and I enjoy both college basketball and NFL football.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
