Healthy Living Tools and Tips: Physical Activity

Regular exercise can improve your heart function, lower your blood pressure and cholesterol, and lower your risk of heart disease. Exercise can also improve your strength and endurance and your body's ability to burn fat. Being active not only keeps your heart healthy, it can also ward off bad moods, improve your sleep, decrease anxiety, raise your self-esteem and help relieve and even prevent depression.

Just half an hour a day can give you all this—and you don't have to join a gym to get these benefits. Whether you're 5 or 65, it's never too early—or too late—to get started. We've provided some quick tips for getting started and staying with an exercise routine that's good for you and fun.
