About Me

Thank you for looking at my home page. I view this page as a nice way to introduce myself to my patients and point my patients to some Internet health care resources. Please explore these links (located on the left hand side of the page) to dermatology related sites for information on skin diseases and skin cancer.

I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a bachelor of arts in English. I attended Harvard Medical School. I did an internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by my dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. I have practiced at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek and Pleasanton since 1992. I am a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association.

I chose Kaiser Permanente because I wanted to work in a multispecialty group where physicians could take the lead in decision making. I like practicing in a system that stresses prevention and allows me to make treatment decisions without “gate keepers”.

I am married and have a four year old son. All my free time is devoted to my family. I volunteer at my son's school; and my husband and I enjoy activities with our son such as soccer, gymnastics, skiing, woodworking, and reading.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
