Greetings!

Welcome to my home page. I am/will be happy to be your physician in the department of Psychiatry, here at Mountain View. I want to reassure you that we here at Kaiser and in the department of Psychiatry are committed to providing high quality service in accordance to the cutting edge treatment guidelines.

In addition to the service provided face to face in the office setting, I want to tell you about some of the web links that can provide you with excellent information on mental health and behavioral health classes offered within Kaiser. These are offered at no or minimum cost. Please see the links listed on the left hand side of your screen.

HOW TO REACH ME:

Currently the easiest way to contact me is by voicemail which directly reaches my office rather than the reception desk. The number is (650) 903-2851. I or my nurse will get back to you generally by the end of the day or at the latest by the next day.

After business hours 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., you can reach the Regional Call Center by calling the reception number at (650) 903-2850. The call center is staffed by trained mental health professionals who can help you if you cannot wait to get in touch with me the next day.

Hopefully by Spring 2006 you will be able to e-mail me through my home page, as well. Currently that service is not available because the communication is not secure at this point in time. You will need to obtain your personal password from Kaiser for this if you don't already have one. I encourage you to get one by going to the website members.kp.org and request one. Sometimes it does take up to 4-6 weeks, so it is better to get started on it right now.

If you send me an e-mail now I do receive it, but I will not be able to respond to it through email. I will instead respond with a phone call.

Lastly, in case you don't already know it you can order your medication refill through the mail or the internet. Each of your medication bottle has a zero refill number listed or you can use the Pharmacy link at [urg http://www.members.kp.org/ memberskp.org].

Following is a brief description of my professional experience:

I completed Residency program at Mental Health Institute in Cherokee, Iowa. My undergraduate and initial post graduate training was in India at University of Indore.

Before joining Kaiser in August of 1994, I had about 20 years of clinical experience treating psychiatric disorders of adults in different settings (i.e. the VA in Menlo Park/Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara and private practice).

In addition to my clinical duties, I am involved in coordinating and supervising the Residency training program in the Adult Division of the Department of Psychiatry at Santa Clara.

I am on the voluntary clinical faculty at Stanford University Department of Psychiatry.

I am a member of the peer review committee in our department and the Physician Wellbeing commitee at the medical center.

I speak two East Indian languages, Hindi and Marathi.
