My Biography

I was born in New York City and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended Yale University from which I graduated Magna cum Laude with distinction in my major of American studies. I became interested in pursuing a medical career after an unexpected encounter with the front end of a Chevy on a sidewalk in Manhattan. I then pursued pre-medical studies at Bryn Mawr College and earned my medical degree from Stanford University. I completed my internship and residency in pediatrics at Stanford University Medical Center.

I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Before joining The Permanente Medical Group in May of 1997, I worked in private practice in Los Altos, California; Silver Spring, Maryland; and Chevy Chase, Maryland.

I am married and have two children. I am an avid reader and enjoy regular exercise, especially swimming, pilates, and skiing. I also appeared as an extra in the television series "ER".
