My Biography

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1989. I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY and completed my bachelor's degree at Ithaca College. I then went on to Upstate Medical School in Syracuse, NY and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. While at Henry Ford Hospital, I held a position as the senior staff physician and primary care residency director.

My medical interests include preventative health care, diabetes, and geriatrics. I hold memberships in the American College of Physicians and the Society of General Internal Medicine.

When I'm not busy attending to patients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, who works in the high-tech industry, and my son who is a student at the University of California in Los Angeles. I also enjoy skiing, biking, hiking, and photography. I am a board member for a rotating shelter which assists homeless men. I volunteer in local elementary schools yearly. Since September 2002, I have donated hundreds of hours as an athletic photographer for a high school.

For all my patients, I recommend:

  • Carry a current list of your medications and medication allergies / sensitivities
  • Consider placing an organ donor sticker on you driver's license. While I hope it will never be needed, it would be an enormous gift to others in the event of a catastrophic injury.

Visit the Kaiser Health Encylopedia. It's a helpful and comprehensive resource for your health issues or questions. NOTE: It's the second item under the "Get Health Advice" tab. www.members.kaiserpermanente.org

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
