About Me

A great deal of what I do as a podiatrist is based on biomechanics: the movement of life. The foot is a living mechanical structure that exists to carry you around in the world. I place a very high priority on sports medicine principles that strive to maintain function, keep patients on their feet, and minimize the length of recovery whenever possible. These principles are also fundamental to my surgical practice.

Finally, I believe our bodies are a gift that we are responsible to maintain through regular exercise and healthy lifestyle choices. If we do maintain our bodies, then more often than not, we will be able to enjoy all that life has to offer.

My Personal Interests

I am an avid cyclist. I race my road bike, am a member of the Benicia Bicycle Club, and even teach Spinning bicycle exercise classes twice a week.

My Background

I chose a medical career, and in particular podiatry, because they allow me to work with people in the clinical setting, and also to work with my hands in my surgical practice. I particularly enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because of the collegiality of the medical group and not having to run a business.

My Credentials

Medical school Barry University, Miami Shores, FL
Internship Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Vallejo, CA
Residency Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Vallejo, CA
Board certification Foot Surgery, American Board of Podiatric Surgery
Board certification Reconstructive Rearfoot-Ankle Surg, American Board of Podiatric Surgery

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
