THRIVE: A Healthy You ...Click here to get connected and learn how to live healthier every day.

ABOUT ME:
I am a Northern California native, born and raised in Davis. My father was an immigrant from Spain and my mother was from Argentina; therefore, I grew up speaking Spanish in my home. My decision to become a physician stems from an early childhood experience watching both of my parents' battle with cancer. I gained from the experience a deep motivation to study the human body and understand how to prevent and treat illness. Since that time, I have had a variety of experiences in patient care, medical research, public health, and international health. One of my most rewarding experiences as a physician was working at a clinic in Africa caring for patients with AIDS. I am honored to be a physician because it allows me to work directly with patients in an effort to maximize their health.

MY PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY:
I believe that optimal health is achieved through a strong physician-patient relationship that emphasizes shared responsibility. Patients who are active participants in their health care achieve better results. I do my best to explain to patients their medical conditions while also suggesting possible therapies so that they can help determine an individualized approach that will work for them. During my work in public health, I learned the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, a balanced diet, and stress management all lead to improved health and sense of well-being.

KAISER PERMANENTE:
I am a new physician at Kaiser but am familiar with the Kaiser system because I grew up as a Kaiser patient. I decided to join Kaiser because it is a medical system in line with my goals to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. I am impressed by Kaiser's genuine commitment to both the prevention of disease and helping patients to cope with chronic illness. I look forward to serving Kaiser patients.

I am also involved with the Young Adult Clinic, the first program of its kind in the Kaiser Permanente Northern California region. This Clinic is specifically geared towards the health needs and concerns of people from ages 18 to 25.

My Credentials

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
