Welcome to my home page!

Please explore the many items on my web page. Please note that Pediatric Health Information includes information on common pediatric problems, newborns & breast feeding, weight management issues, travel shots, well care, and immunizations. The Multimedia Page (Educational Videos and Radio Broadcasts) is another great resource available to you. It's a great resource for parents! This is a resource for you to get questions and information about common pediatric problems via the internet 24 hours a day.

This webpage has some great links that may help you as parents learn more about taking care of your child, as well as how to deal with some common illnesses that your child may encounter. Below is some information about myself and how our clinic works.

About me: I went to college and medical school at Boston University, attending their Six-Year Liberal Arts/Medical Program. I graduated this accelerated program in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Medical Degree, minoring in English literature and majoring in Medical Science.

I did my Pediatric Residency from 1990-1993 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, working both at Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub County Hospital.

I am a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

I have been working with The Permanente Medical Group at Kaiser Milpitas since 1993. It has been and continues to be a wonderful privilege to care for your children and watch them grow up!

I am married and have two children (at the time of this writing, they are one-year-old and 2-1/2 years old). Having children has made me a better pediatrician in that I now understand just how hard it is to be a parent! It's easy to give good advice. It's so much harder sometimes to follow that advice!

In my free time, you will find me in the park with the kids. Or fingerpainting with my toddler, while simultaneously trying to wash the fingerpaint out of my one-year-old's mouth! Or cooking dinner with the baby in one arm and the toddler hanging onto my pantlegs. All of you parents out there know what I mean!

About the pediatric clinic: I work every weekday and half days on Thursdays. It is during these hours that we will schedule your child for routine check-ups or other non-urgent visits. We always try to have same-day availability for sick or urgent visits. In addition, my colleagues and I cover the evening clinics and weekend clinics on a rotating schedule. These appointments are reserved for sick/urgent visits only. Evening clinics are located at the 589 Los Coches St. building and run from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Weekend clinics are located in the Santa Clara pediatric department and run from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Please call our Call Center at 408/945-2933 for appointments or advice. (Sorry - we don't have any walk-in clinics!)

To reach me: Through the Call Center, you can speak with a nurse for advice, or make an appointment. They can also send messages to me which I receive within 1-2 hours. If your child is under 12 years old, then you can e-mail me through the "e-mail your doctor" option on our Kaiser website. I try to reply to these e-mails within one working day.

To refill medications: Please call the "Refills and Zero Refills" number at least a few days before you run out. Try out the mail order refills -- your prescription will be mailed to your house within about a week! Even more convenient, try ordering refills online (members.kp.org).
