Hello and welcome.

I am currently the Chief of Anesthesia for the GSAA. I was in private practice in Los Angeles area for 17 years before I joint Kaiser Permanente in January of 2000. I am very glad I joined because I find the care and practice environment much more paitent orientated and for me much more enjoyable.

Our group consists of Anesthesiologist and CRNA’s (certified registered nurse anesthetists) working together as a team. We take care of you from the time you reach the pre-op area until you either go home for same day surgery or until you go to your hospital room. Soon we will have a Pre-op clinic were we will see all the patients ahead of time where will meet an anesthesiologist who will get your history and discuss your anesthetic. You will also get pre-op teaching and most of your lab work done at that time.

Our group now covers the Hayward hospital including the OR and labor and delivery, the Fremont hospital OR, the ambulatory surgery unit at Fremont and the IVF (invitro fertilization) suite at Fremont. We use the most modern equipment and most up to date medicines to give our patients the best anesthetic care available. Over my 20 + years doing anesthesia the care patients get is the safer than it has ever been.

I work at all the sites and specialize in doing children under 1 year old. I work closely with your surgeon and look forward to caring for you and giving you an environment to help relive your anxiety and a safe and pain free anesthetic during your surgery.

My office number is 510 784-6062 where you can leave me a message, or e-mail me with secure messaging.

I personally support the American Society of Anesthesiologists, California Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
